The long-vacant former Dickies Canada building in Hanover is set to become a 39-unit apartment building.
At its Oct. 19 meeting, Hanover council approved a Community Improvement Program tax increment equivalent grant agreement for redeveloping the building at 612 10th Ave., according to the town's council briefs.
The town says the project will convert the property into a 39-unit apartment building with resident amenities.
Under the incentive, municipal property tax increases that result from the property's higher assessment are phased in. The town says this supports the redevelopment, "helping bring a key site back into productive use while adding new housing supply in Hanover."
The town's briefs did not include a construction timeline.
