Corrections and standards
We work to get it right the first time. When we don't, we say so plainly and fix it.
Every story is checked against primary and authoritative sources before it runs.
Corrections
When a published story contains a factual error, we correct it in the story and add a note saying what changed and when.
What a reader can expect
- News and opinion stay in separate sections.
- A letter is one person's view, published under a name the writer agrees to.
- A story says what is known and what is not yet known.
- We name our sources in the story itself, so readers can see where information comes from.
