Two neighbouring municipalities are looking for residents to volunteer on local committees and boards as the new council term begins.
Hanover
The Town of Hanover is seeking residents interested in serving on a council advisory committee or local board for the 2026-2030 council term, the town said Nov. 4. Citizen members help council make informed decisions by offering community perspectives, expertise and advice on matters affecting the town's future, according to the announcement. Details on the committees and how to apply are posted on the town's website. The town can be reached at 519-364-2780.
West Grey
The Municipality of West Grey is accepting applications for three boards: the West Grey Police Service Board, the West Grey Public Library Board and the Elmwood Community Centre Board.
Applicants need a completed application form and a resume. Police Service Board applicants must also provide a police record check completed within the past 12 months. References are not required now but may be requested later, the municipality said, and all submissions will be seen only by council and appropriate staff.
Applications for all three boards are due by 12 p.m. on Nov. 26, 2026. Forms are on the municipality's website, and alternate formats are available on request through the West Grey records office.
