The Town of The Blue Mountains has launched Reaching Our Peak, a new Community Improvement Plan meant to encourage investment in housing, local business, agriculture and agritourism, and commercial areas, the town said.
The plan's project area now covers the entire municipality, and it has a simplified, always-open application process, according to the town's announcement.
It includes 19 incentives. Housing programs include a Development Charges Equivalent Program of up to $250,000 for eligible housing units, a Housing Feasibility Program of up to $25,000, a Rental Housing Grant of up to $10,000 per unit to a maximum of $150,000 per project, and an Additional Residential Unit Program of up to $20,000, the town said.
The town said the programs were developed from community priorities identified through resident surveys, stakeholder workshops and public meetings. Property owners, businesses, developers, non-profits and other eligible applicants are encouraged to review the details.
