The Hanover Fire Department has appointed Matt Marshall as its new deputy fire chief, effective Nov. 23, the Town of Hanover said in a media release.
Marshall joined the department in October 2012 and has been a captain since 2025, the release said. The town said he was chosen through a competitive process that drew internal and external applicants.
His certifications include fire and pump operations and technical rescue, including surface water, swiftwater and ice rescue and auto extrication, according to the release.
"Promoting from within is particularly meaningful to our organization," Fire Chief Jeff Dentinger said in the release. "Deputy Chief Marshall understands our department, our members, and the community we serve."
