Oct. 29, 1925: Election night by radio. Grey Southeast went to the polls on Oct. 29, 1925, and Flesherton heard the results by radio. A big crowd came to town, the Flesherton Advance reported the next week, with returns relayed through a merchant's store and the town hall, "which was well filled." Agnes Macphail, Canada's only woman MP, was re-elected by a substantial majority. The Ceylon MP, the paper said, "took her victory calmy [sic]."
