Road & Weather Watch: A below-zero night as paving and a bridge job near their end dates
Paving and a bridge closure reach their scheduled end dates, and a cold Tuesday morning is forecast

Here's what drivers in the Township of Chatsworth need to know for the week of Oct. 26.
Township roads
Fall paving scheduled to wrap up. The township's 2026 road construction notice lists the last days for its three paving projects this week:
- Sideroad 60 and Concession 10: to Oct. 27
- Concession 2: to Oct. 29
- Concession 3A: to Oct. 29
The township says the dates are approximate and depend on the weather, equipment and materials, so expect equipment, temporary delays and changing road conditions until crews are done. As of early Monday, the township had not posted a completion notice. Our earlier story has more on the work.
Sideroad 9A bridge closure nears its expected end. Sideroad 9A remains closed to through traffic about 800 metres east of Grey Road 3 while Bridge 39 is replaced. The township's closure notice says the work is expected to be finished by Oct. 30, but could take longer depending on the weather. As of early Monday, the township had not posted a reopening notice. Residents and businesses on the road can still get in from the east or the west, and the signed detour uses Grey Road 3, Sideroad 8 and Concession 8.
Questions about township roads go to the township office at 519-794-3232.
County roads and highways
Grey County posts its closures and construction on its Municipal 511 map at roads.grey.ca. The county's road conditions page still says winter road reporting has not started for the season. County road questions go to 519-376-7337.
As of early Monday morning, 511 Ontario listed no closures or construction on Highway 6 or Highway 10 in the township. The nearest 511 items were daytime lane closures for construction on Highway 21 near Allenford and Amberley, daytime construction on Highway 26 at Thornbury, and moving maintenance lane closures on Highway 26 between Clearview and Springwater.
Plowing
Neither the township nor Grey County has announced the start of winter maintenance yet. We'll report it here when they do.
