Kids' Corner contest: Draw or write about your favourite place in Chatsworth
The first monthly drawing and writing contest for Chatsworth-area kids
By David Ellis · · 1 min read
Calling all young artists and writers! The first Kids' Corner contest is open, and it's free.
This month's theme: My favourite place in Chatsworth
Where do you love to go? It could be a creek, a barn, the park, the arena, the library, the falls at Walters Falls, or a spot on your farm. Show us in a drawing, or tell us in a story or poem of up to about 300 words. (We'll never publish where you live, so don't worry about naming exact spots near home.)
Who can enter
Kids aged 5 to 13 who live in or near the Township of Chatsworth. One entry per child.
How to enter
- A parent or guardian fills in the entry form with their own name and email, and ticks the consent box.
- For a drawing, email a photo or scan to news@chatsworthbanner.ca, with "Kids' Corner" and your child's first name in the subject line.
- Entries close Monday, Nov. 30, at 11:59 p.m.
We'll share a selection of entries in Kids' Corner in early December, with each child's first name and age only.
The fine print
A parent or guardian enters for the child, with their own name and email, and must tick the consent box. The work must be the child's own, though a grown-up can help with typing or taking the photo. We print the child's first name and age only: no last name, school, address or photo of the child's face, and never a birthdate. There are no prizes. Every child who enters will be thanked. The full rules are on the contest page.
Your turn: Teachers and club leaders, would your class like to enter together? Email news@chatsworthbanner.ca and we'll explain how. Each child still needs a parent's or guardian's consent.
Send us a tip, or tell us what to cover
Know something we missed, or want a story followed up? Tell us. Email is optional; add it only if you'd like a reply. For anything longer, use the full tip form.
