Post a lost or found notice

Free for animals and belongings. An editor reviews every post before it goes on the board; nothing is published automatically.

  • We publish the description, photo, general area, date and the one contact method you choose. First name is optional. No surnames or street addresses.
  • Keep one distinguishing detail private, so the real owner can prove it's theirs.
  • We keep that private detail privately and use it only to check claims. Only our moderators see it; it is never published or given to anyone claiming the item, and we delete it with the rest of your submission within 90 days after your post expires or is removed.
  • Never include microchip, tag, serial, licence or ID numbers, and don't send photos of ID, cards, keys with tags or documents.
  • No accusations, names of other people, sales or rehoming. We can't post those.
  • Posts last 30 days and can be renewed once. Tell us when it's reunited and we'll take it down within 2 business days.

Scam warning: The Banner does not verify posts or ownership. Never send money, gift cards or deposits to get a pet or item back, and never pay for “shipping” or “transport”. Ask for proof only you or the real owner would know, meet in a public place, and report suspected fraud to the OPP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (1-888-495-8501).

Read our privacy policy before you send.

For example: Found, small black dog near Desboro.

Colour, size, breed or make. Finders: leave out at least one distinguishing detail. Never include microchip, tag, serial, licence or ID numbers. Found a wallet, ID, keys, phone or card? Just say what it is (“wallet found near…”) and take ID or cards to the OPP or the issuer.

A marking, a contents detail, a collar colour. We keep it privately and use it only to check claims: only our moderators see it, it is never published or given to anyone claiming the item, and it is deleted within 90 days after your post ends.

Road, hamlet or intersection. Never a house number or street address.

First name only. Leave blank to post without a name.

The form can't take attachments. If you'll email a photo, it must show only the item or animal: no people, licence plates, house numbers, mail, ID or documents, and it must be yours or used with permission.
