The Town of Saugeen Shores has cancelled its Council (Planning) meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19.
In a public notice posted on its website on Oct. 14, the town said the meeting is cancelled "in accordance with 2.6 (a) of the Procedural By-law." The meeting is also marked cancelled on the town's online meetings calendar.
Section 2.6 of the town's procedural by-law, By-law 87-2024, says any regular council meeting may be cancelled or postponed by a notice from the head of council, given through the clerk's office before the meeting, or by a majority vote of council. Subsection (a) is the notice route.
Under the same by-law, Saugeen Shores holds council meetings on Planning Act and growth matters on the third Monday of each month, if required. The town's notice did not give a reason for the cancellation.
Agendas and meeting dates are posted on the town's meetings calendar at saugeenshores.ca.
