Voting in the 2026 municipal and school board election is now open in the Municipality of Meaford, the municipality announced on Oct. 16.
Electors can vote by internet or telephone from Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. until Oct. 26 at 8 p.m., according to the municipality's release. The system is available 24 hours a day during that period, using the information in each elector's Voter Information Letter.
Voters can choose up to one mayor, up to five councillors and up to one school board trustee. The municipality says the deputy mayor, French Separate School Board trustee and English Separate School Board trustee were acclaimed.
Electors who have not received a Voter Information Letter can visit a Voting Help Centre with identification, the release says. Questions about the letters can go to elections@meaford.ca or 519-538-1060 ext. 1234. A schedule of Voting Help Centres and other election information is at meafordvotes.ca, and the municipality's notice is on meaford.ca.
