Highway 26 has reopened in the Meaford area after an evening closure, according to Ontario 511.
The province's traffic service posted at 10:27 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, that the closure between St. Vincent-Sydenham Townline/16 Sideroad at Woodford and Swathmore Drive in Meaford had cleared. Ontario 511 first reported all lanes closed in both directions at 9:05 p.m., listing the reason only as "Other."
The cause of the closure has not been released, and officials have not said whether anyone was hurt. The Banner has asked Grey Bruce OPP and the Ministry of Transportation for details and will update this story if they provide them.
