The outgoing council has one regular evening session left before Chatsworth goes to the polls

Chatsworth council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Township Office, 316837 Highway 6, according to the township's events calendar and its online meetings portal.
The township's council page says regular council meetings are held in the Municipal Council Chambers on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. and the third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Under that schedule, Oct. 21 is the outgoing council's last regular evening meeting before the Oct. 26 municipal election.
The term of the current council, led by Mayor Scott Mackey, ends when the new council holds its inaugural meeting on Monday, Nov. 16, according to the township's election calendar.
Mackey is not seeking re-election. Of the current council, Deputy Mayor Terry McKay and Coun. Shawn Greig are running for mayor, and Coun. Peter Whitten is running for deputy mayor. Coun. Elizabeth Thompson is not on the ballot.
Attending
Under Ontario's Municipal Act, council meetings must generally be open to the public. The township's council page says anyone who wants to appear as a delegation must submit a Request to Appear as Delegation form to the Clerk.
As of Oct. 15, no agenda for the Oct. 21 meeting had been posted on the township's online meetings portal.
After the election
The township's meetings portal lists the next regular council meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 9:30 a.m. That meeting falls before the Nov. 16 inaugural meeting, so it would also be held by the outgoing council.
The Banner will publish what's on the agenda once it's available and report on the meeting afterward.
