Township of Chatsworth residents with leftover garbage bag tags can return them for a refund from July 13 to Dec. 31, 2026, the Township says.
The tags are no longer needed. The Township switched to automated cart-based waste collection on July 7, 2026, and council directed staff to refund unused tags, according to a Township notice.
The Township will pay the current purchase price of $3 per tag. Tags must be unused, in good condition and match the current Township design. Returns of 1 to 20 tags are refunded in cash, and returns of 21 or more are refunded by cheque, the notice says.
Refunds are handled at the Township office, 316837 Highway 6, which is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Township's website. The office can be reached at 519-794-3232.
More information about the cart program, including the collection schedule, is at chatsworth.ca/residents/recycling-diversion-and-waste.
